Artist Statement

I am an artist based in Richmond, CA, part of the Puerto Rican diaspora. My art practice explores the Latino experience through portraiture and contemporary locales via traditional media. I have always been interested in people inhabiting contested spaces, threatened by climate change or development. I prefer working from life, but since the pandemic I have been building compositions from photographs that I use for portraits.
